Jockey Club “calls” Jockey Club! As per tradition, on the big day of the most important autumn race of the Milanese gallop, the Grand Prix of the Jockey Club-SIRE Pio Bruni Trophy for English thoroughbreds, on Sunday 15 October the Snai San Siro Racecourse will also host the richest race reserved for Arabian thoroughbreds in Italy in the entire year. Yes, because the Milano Jockey Club Stakes are a group 3 but with its 60,500 euros it is equipped with a larger prize pool than the Milano UAE President Cup, group 2 which in June reaches 50,060 euros.
Ten horses were declared starters. Also, this edition of the Milano Jockey Club Stakes attracted five excellent foreign PSAs to Milan. Above all, Jarif, winner of this race in 2022 (he will still have Marco Monteriso in the saddle, returning from a trip to Libya), as well as the Milan UAE President Cup 2022 and 2023. Sultana also comes from France, fresh from a third place in group 1 at La Teste de Buch at the end of July, also trained by m.me J.F. Bernard.
From Poland, on the other hand, Salsabil II and Rasmy Al Khalediah, first and second in a direct confrontation at the end of August in Warsaw. Salsabil II (entrusted to Federico Bossa) has won 8 out of 11 races in his career, Rasmy Al Khalediah (with Carlo Fiocchi) has won both races held in Italy. From Bulgaria here is Got de Lagarde, for the training and ownership of Hristo Hristov, with jockette Svetlana Mihaleva.
The Italian “defense” seems to be mainly entrusted to the allies Due di Gallura and Abu di Gallura, first and second in the listed held at the end of September in Chilivani, trained by Salvatore Muroni jr, and again to the training partners Aunar de Piné and Mak’amera, in that circumstance disappointing on an excessive distance for both, presented by “Endo” Botti and Cristiana Brivio. The line-up is completed by the other Sardinian Diamanteditrexenta, trained by Massimiliano Narduzzi.
