H.H Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, has ordered an increase in the prize value of the President of the UAE Cup for Arabian horses. The prize will be raised by AED 3.5 million, bringing the total to AED 8 million, making it one of the highest value races worldwide.
The 32nd edition of the President of the UAE Cup, covering a distance of 2200 meters, will take place on December 15 at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club. This premier Arabian horse race marks the season’s final event. The prize increase aims to enhance the importance and stature of purebred Arabian horses, highlighting the UAE’s commitment to elevating its racing events to global standards.
H.E. Eng. Ali Al Shaiba, Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, expressed delight at hosting the final stage of this prestigious event. He emphasized that the significance of the championship lies not only in showcasing the exceptional capabilities of purebred Arabian horses but also in reaffirming the UAE’s dedication to preserving and advancing the rich heritage of Arabian horse racing on the global stage.
He appreciated Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed’s ongoing support, noting its substantial impact on the success and global reputation of the championship. Launched in 1994 by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the President’s Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses has continually underscored the importance and exceptional qualities of these horses, preserving this vital heritage.
The championship attracts top horse owners, trainers, and jockeys from around the world. Established in 1976, the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, inspired by Sheikh Zayed’s vision, has become a prominent entity in the equestrian world, upholding his legacy.
