Strengthening the fraternal ties between Oman and the UAE in equestrian sports and horse racing, Mr. Mundhir bin Saif bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Chairman of the Oman Equestrian Federation, recently hosted His Excellency Faisal Al Rahmani, Chairman of the International Federation of Purebred Arabian Horse Racing. The meeting covered various aspects related to horse racing at Gulf, regional, and international levels.
Enhancing Relations
His Excellency Faisal Al Rahmani emphasized that this visit is a continuation of previous mutual exchanges with the Oman Equestrian Federation. The goal is to fortify the brotherly relations between the two nations and support equestrian sports, reinforcing the leading role of the Oman Equestrian Federation. They aim to implement several joint agendas with the International Federation of Horse Racing to reach global recognition.
Offering Support
Al Rahmani noted that this visit builds on a recent meeting in Dubai, discussing key points such as the International Federation’s support for the Oman Equestrian Federation. Coordination for infrastructure development is in progress, aligning with the latest administrative, executive, and technical standards. This initiative matches the project of developing Omani talents to represent the Sultanate in global and international events.
Integration and Development
Al Rahmani highlighted the effort to support Arabian horse racing in Oman and create an optimal environment for rapid race development. This complements the support from the Omani government, significantly advancing horse racing sports.
Comprehensive Strategy
Al Rahmani elaborated on a long-term comprehensive strategy between the two federations, marking a transformative phase for horse racing. This strategy includes projects, plans, and programs, part of which has already been approved, with frameworks for constructive cooperation established. Additionally, coordinated field visits to review infrastructure are being planned.
Hosting Possibilities
Al Rahmani discussed the potential for Oman to host one of the purebred Arabian horse races under their supervision, along with significant media and public events.
