Lone Star Park, Texas 24 November 2023
RB MALEXIS(Al Mourtajez x Rich Kinkga) put an exclamation point on a stellar first racing season with a 10-length triumph over defending champion WMA Big Baby in Friday night’s Filly/Mare Division of the Grade 2 Texas Arabian Stallion Stakes at Lone Star Park. The 3-year-old chestnut filly by Al Mourtajez, a first-year sire in the United States, and out of Rich Kinkga, a producer of multiple champions, became the first 3-year-old filly to defeat older fillies and mares in the Texas Arabian Stallion Stakes since her half-sister RB Kinkie did so in 2016. Ridden in all five of her starts this year by Ernesto Valdez-Jiminez, RB Malexis had four wins, including two in graded stakes, representing her breeder and owner Rosebrook Farm and trainer Jerenesto Torrez. The only blemish on her record was a loss against older male horses in her previous race when Scorched broke Lone Star Park’s 6-furlong track record. However, RB Malexis returned to her winning ways with the double-digit win in the Texas Arabian Stallion Stakes, covering 1 mile in 1:49.64, the fastest finishing time in the race since Uptown Sandy Girl won in 2019.
