All horses had a good start. TEX D.A. (BE) and ILLIKEAU (FR) took the lead … soon followed by the two “NIL” horses: NIL ADAMIS (CH) and KHAN DU NIL(FR).
For a while, there was tough competition between NIL ADAMIS and TEX D.A., with ILLIKEAU a couple of lengths in front. NIL ADAMIS finally passed by TEX D.A. and for a short period it looked like NIL ADAMIS was going to challenge ILLIKEAU, but the latter speeded up again and finally won easily.
ILLIKEAU is bay gelding born in France, by Nieshan ex Djebelina. He was acquired by Marian Weissmeier in France. Marian brought him to Germany and trained him … as a second-generation trainer in the Weissmeier family.
ILLIKEAU was raced and won with us in April in the WATHBA SPRING CUP, beating a horse trained by the first generation Weissmeier trainers, namely Regina. Next, he had no chance to repeat his win, although he was an honorable second during the President Cup in Baden-Baden in September.
