Taking place the day before the Qatar Arabian Trophy des Poulains and des Pouliches and just a few days before the prestigious Qatar Arabian Wold Cup (Grs.1 PA), the Purebred
Arabian Sale, in partnership with AFAC, will take place on Thursday 28th September at Saint-Cloud Racecourse. The catalogue, now available on www.arqana.com
offers 91 lots including horses-in-training and two-year-olds together with a breeding section made up of mares, maidens and yearlings.
Two-Year-Old Section
Past sales graduates from this section include this season’s Coupe d’Europe des Chevaux Arabes winner CH’EZZA. Made up of 46 lots, they will be the first to go under the hammer with
the progeny of Aim South, AF Albahar, AF Al Buraq, Al Mamun Monlau, Al Mouwaffak, Al Mourtajez, Al Tair, Assy, Azadi, Dormane, Gazwan, General, Josco Du Caryou, Kalino, Mahabb,
Manark, Nieshan and No Risk Al Maury all on offer.
Of note among the colts and fillies in the catalogue:
- Lot 1: a half-brother by Al Mourtajez to dual Groupe PA scorer ARTEMIS, out of the French Arabian Breeders’ Challenge (Gr.1 PA) winner OCYRRHOE. Consigned by Ecurie Eric Ventrou, the colt hails from the family of the talented FAZZA AL KHALEDIAH, FALINA DES FABRIES and QUAZAR;
- Lot 6: a half-brother by Al Mouwaffak to Group PA winner DARIUS DU PAON and multiple Group PA scorer NYMPHEA DU PAON that has notably produced the talented BASMAH and MUJEEB, from Haras de l’Abbaye
- Lot 8: a son of Mahabb out of a half-sister to dual Group 1 PA winner SYLVINE AL MAURY and a sister to Group 1 scorer SIVIT AL MAURY, from Haras de Saint Vincent;
- Lot 13: a son of Manark from the close family of Group winners SKOOP, SPLEEN, SNOOPI and SIMMBAD, from Haras de Saint Faust;
- Lot 22: a half-brother by Manark to this season’s Coupe d’Europe des Chevaux Arabes winner CH’EZZA, from the family of Group 1 scorers MAJD AL ARAB, RADDAD, TAYF, MUSHRAE etc., from Haras de Mandore;
- Lot 32: a half-brother by Al Mourtajez to Group winner and Group 1 placed AHZAR, from the family of Group 1 winners DORFA, KERRA, LWSAIL, PARADOR, KERJAM, AK MUJAHAZ etc., from Haras de Mandore
- Lot 35: a half-brother by No Risk Al Maury to Listed winner GUEST DEL FALOT and Group winners IZADI STAR and JOE STAR, from Haras du Saubouas;
- Lot 40: a half-brother by Arabian Trophy des Juments (Gr.1 PA) winner SAHAB. Consigned by Haras du Saubouas, the colt is from the family of the very talented DORMAH DE BRUGERE, MAHESS DU SOLEIL, DAHOR DE BRUGERE, SHALAA, AMYR DOU SOLEIL etc.
18 lots for the Breeding Stock section
The breeding section, which offers 12 broodmares, 2 yearlings and four fillies out of training will follow the two-year-olds. Of note among the mares is CEPHALE DE GHAZAL (lot 52), a winning daughter of Munjiz out of Group winner CHAMADE DE GHAZAL from the family of triple Group 1 winner KISS DE GHAZAL.
She will be offered in foal for the first time carrying to Al Mourtajez from Haras des Thouars. Of the fillies out of training is POMONE (lot 60), a daughter of Dahess out of multiple Group 1 winner KISS DE GHAZAL. Offered from Haras de Gouffern, the filly is none other than a half-sister to multiple Group winner JARIF and the very talented ARION.
Finally, two yearlings will go under the hammer including lot 57, a brother to Group 1 scorer RB MADYMOISELLE and Group winner MAYASA. Consigned by Al Cem Stud, the son of Group 1 placed FRYNCH is also a brother to Group winners RICH FRYNCHMAN, WYCKED and RB FRYNCH BROAD.
Horses-in-training
A total of 27 horses-in-training will close the sale, including:
- KAHLIE DE FAUST (lot 68), a winner on her debut over 2,200 meters at La Teste for the trainer Philippe Sogorb. The three-year-old daughter of Af Albahar is from the close family of Group 1 winners SKOOP and SIMMBAD;
- Runner-up on his second start over 2.000 metres at San Sebastian, the Didier Guillemin-trained ZAKADIR is lot 69. The three-year-old son of Al Mamun Monlau out of multiple Group 1 winner AL DAHMA is a half-brother to Group 1 winners YAZEED and MARID;
- AFRICA DE MONLAU, trained by Xavier Thomas- Demeaulte, will go under the hammer as lot 75. Runner-up on her debut over 1,900 in July, she then won over the same distance on her second start. The three-year-old daughter of Af Al Burag is a half-sister to Al Maktoum Challenge (Gr.1 PA) winner JUGURTHA DE MONLAU and hails from the family of the excellent LIGHTNING BOLT and SAMIMA.
