Normandia Rach conquers second consecutive victory, trainer Lucas
Quintana and Rach Stud Agropecuária the first three places with Vivina Rach
in second and Naizza Rach in third place.
Run over 1,500m turf on Saturday 24 June, the Prize UAE President Cup
Series For Fillies I as the fourth race of the international Arabian horse racing
season in Brazil at the Jockey Club de São Paulo, which forms part of the UAE
President Cup South America Mondial Brazil.
After winning the Grand Prix Wathba Stallions Cup for Fillies I on May 13, at
Cidade Jardim Hippodrome, Normandia Rach (*Uzbek Du Lion x Novella Rach
by Voltaire Rach) again ridden by Michael Silva makes an excellent race.
After a battle between all the competitors, in the final 350 meters
Normandia and Silva attacked on the inside, took the lead and distanced
themselves from the others, winning the race by two lengths over their
stablemates Vivina Rach (Bismarck Rach x Vaneska Rach by Mister Eros HX )
and Naizza Rach (Feitizzo Rach x La Nouba Endurance by *Saad Ibn Syed).
But the exciting battle was the dispute for second place with an exemplary
performance by Vivina Rach under the command of Jeffecleone Bispo, who
shot from the last position in the final 50 meters to cross with ½ neck ahead
of Naizza Rach ridden by Idevaldo Silva.
Bred and owned by Cláudio R. G. Ribas and trained by Estanislau
Petrochinski, RG Era (RG Karat x RG Kasta by *Sarmata) and RG Kalifa
(Cáceres CSM x Caldas CSM by Pavel Rach) finished fourth and fifth
respectively.
Jockey Michael Silva said, “Although it was a very balanced and well-
fought race, I was confident that we would win again. Normandia is in
excellent condition and responded to all my commands and with that we took
our second victory in a row.”
Lucas Quintana, trainer with the most victories in Arabian horse races in
Brazil since his return in 2013, said: “I have the habit of saying that during
training one of the animals whispers to me that it will win the race and this
week Normandia whispered to me who would take the second victory. And she
performed excellently, once again under the efficient leadership of Michael
Silva.”
For breeder and owner Ricardo Jamil Saliba, from Rach Stud Agropecuária,
who won the first three places consecutively, “it was a fantastic race in
which the three fillies repeated the result of the previous race, with a
change from second to third place. It’s a trio that is competing together, but
Normandia, who is Dormane’s granddaughter, stood out again.”
He added: “We are very happy because they are three animals conceived
for the sport and, mainly because of Vivina’s result, which has improved a lot
in her performance in the last races and we are sure that the three will bring
us much joy and achievements.”
Almir José Ribeiro, Racing Director for the Arabian Horse Breeders
Brazilian Association (ABCCA) said: “It was the great start of our UAE
President Cup South America Mondial Brazil season, and it couldn’t be any
different. Two races with our best animals running in Brazil that simply
topped our stats for the last three years.”

ensuring the sustainability of Arabian horse racing in Brazil.”
The Prize UAE President Cup Series for Fillies I was organized by the
Arabian Horse Breeders Brazilian Association in partnership with the Jockey
Club of São Paulo.
