BELGIUM 10 NOVEMBER 2023
Despite two of the 9 entries had to declare forfeit at the last moment because of damage to their property by the recent passing of the two major storm over France, we had an interesting race.
RAZA P (by HILAL AL ZAMAN (IQ) ex RULAA (GB) by DEDJA DES FORGES (FR)) is bred by Peter Deckers, out of Rulaa, a mare he could buy from an Irani owner that doubted of her fertility after she had passed two years in a vet-clinic. She produced two foals since she is with Peter, Raza P being definitely the best of the two. Her older brother PORCINI P has also proved his quality during his earlier races, but Peter preferred to go on with the filly … as she can eventually later join his broodmare-band to replace her mother who is by now 13 years old. RAZA P is still in ownership of Peter Deckers and also trained by him, with the adequate help of assistant trainer Anne Engels.
Initially the lead was taken by the two horses of Johan Verstrepen: Tex D.A. and BAHI D.A., for a while overtaken by Pythagoras K.A. (Heritage), always very swift to start, Raza P being in fourth position. Progressively Pythagoras was overtaken by the two Dijkhoeve Arabians and Raza P joined the lead. In fourth position we had now VITALY the fastest of our current Heritage competitors, who is essentially of old Russian bloodlines. This quattuor made the arrival with Raza P showing good speed towards the end of the race and winning with several lengths.
